What’s in it?

Ingredients  Aqua (Water),Petrolatum,Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerine, Ceteareth 20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Anthemis Nobilis (Camomile) Flower Extract, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Benzyl Alcohol.


Aqua Purified water – the Purified water used in Elave formulations is free from toxins, pollutants and microbes.

Petrolatum is an emollient used in the management of skin disorders.  It is not readily absorbed by the skin and so is excellent at forming a protective layer on the skin allowing the skin to heal itself. It prevents moisture loss from the skin making it easier for the epidermis to continue normal function.

Caprylic/capric triglyceride is an oily liquid made from coconut oil, it creates a barrier on the skin's surface, decreasing the amount of moisture lost through the skin, functioning not only to prevent dryness in skin, but also as a skin conditioning agent to soften and smooth the skin.

Glycerin is available naturally in vegetable oils.  

  • Absorbs moisture from the air to keep the skin well-toned, moisturised and hydrated. It is a humectant (helps to retain water) and it readily absorbs water from other sources. In part, Glycerin works because of its ability to attract water from the environment and from the lower layers of the skin (dermis) increasing the amount of water in the surface layers of the skin to keep skin well-toned, moisturised and hydrated.

  • Strengthens skin barrier – It increases the thickness of the epidermal layer and improves barrier function. This means that the harmful chemicals stay out of the skin and moisture stays in.

    Ceteareth-20 is a penetration enhancer which allows substances to penetrate deeper into the skin.

    Cetearyl alcohol is an emulsifier. In creams and lotions, it supports the main emulsion system and gives texture to the product.

    Glyceryl Stearate acts as a lubricant on the skin's surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. It also slows the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the skin's surface.

    Palmitic Acid is a fatty acid naturally-occurring in skin, it is a very good emollient, it helps strengthen the skin's healthy barrier function for a smoother surface.

    Stearic acid derived from natural sources, it helps prevent the formula from separating into liquid and oily layers.

    Benzyl alcohol is naturally derived ingredient used as a preservative inhibiting the development of micro-organisms in the product.

    Disodium EDTA acts as a preservative that prevents cosmetic products from deteriorating.

    Anthemis Nobilis (Camomile) Flower Extract has been used since ancient times for its healing properties. It has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties known to help with problem skin.

    Citric acid a natural extract derived from citrus fruits, it is a widely accepted organic acid used to control the products pH level and increase circulation in the skin. It also has antioxidant properties.

    Sodium Citrate is the sodium salt of citric acid derived from fruits and vegetables. It is used in combination with citric acid to balance the pH of the product.

    Benzyl Alcohol is also added as a masking agent added to the product to reduce the fatty odour of emulsifiers as no additional perfume or fragrance has been added.
