Elave sensitive intensive cream is an emollient treatment cream formulated to protect the skin’s natural barrier and reduce flare-ups of dry, itchy, sensitive, ultra-sensitive, reactive, eczema and dermatitis prone skin.
The emollient rich formula contains White Soft Paraffin & Fractionated Coconut Oil to soothe, hydrate and calm the skin. Repairing the skin’s protective barrier and restoring the skin’s moisture helps to protect sensitive skin.
The emollient elave Intensive cream has been re-classified to a higher regulatory standard in relation to product claims and clinical requirements to verify use in the routine moisturisation, protection and treatment of dry, itchy and irritated skin.
Re-classified with a CE mark, elave Intensive Cream has indications for use in the treatment of eczema and other dry, itchy skin conditions. These claims could not be applied to a cosmetic product and required an independent clinical evaluation report examining data including pre-clinical data, clinical data non-clinical data, post market surveillance and the product risk analysis.
Regular use can manage dry, itchy skin in patients with eczema and dermatitis prone skin reducing flare-ups.
What’s in it?
Ingredients White Soft Paraffin, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Glycerin, Macrogol Cetostearyl Ether, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Monostearate, Palmitic Acid, Benzyl alcohol, Stearic Acid, Disodium Edetate, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate and Purified Water.
White Soft Paraffin an emollient in the management of skin disorders. It is not readily absorbed by the skin and so is excellent at forming a protective layer on the skin allowing the skin to heal itself. It prevents moisture loss from the skin making it easier for the epidermis to continue normal function.
Fractionated Coconut Oil is an oily liquid made from coconut oil it creates a barrier on the skin's surface, decreasing the amount of moisture lost through the skin, functioning not only to prevent dryness in skin, but also as a skin conditioning agent to soften and smooth the skin.
Glycerin is available naturally in vegetable oils.
Macrogol Cetostearyl Ether is a penetration enhancer which allows substances to penetrate deeper into the skin.
Cetostearyl alcohol is an emulsifier. In creams and lotions, it supports the main emulsion system and gives texture to the product.
Glyceryl Monostearate acts as a lubricant on the skin's surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. It also slows the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the skin's surface.
Palmitic Acid is a fatty acid naturally-occurring in skin, it is a very good emollient, it helps strengthen the skin's healthy barrier function for a smoother surface.
Stearic acid is derived from natural sources, helps prevent the formula from separating into liquid and oily layers.
Benzyl alcohol is a naturally derived ingredient used as a preservative inhibiting the development of micro-organisms in the product.
Disodium Edetate acts as a preservative that prevents cosmetic products from deteriorating.
Sodium Citrate is the sodium salt of citric acid derived from fruits and vegetables. It is used in combination with citric acid to balance the pH of the product.
Citric acid a natural extract derived from citrus fruits, it is a widely accepted organic acid used to control the products pH level and increase circulation in the skin. It also has antioxidant properties.
Aqua Purified water – the Purified water used in Elave formulations is free from toxins, pollutants and microbes.
