Foot Care

Hard skin, cracked heels, corns, fungal nails and athlete's foot are all everyday foot complaints, and this range gathers the products that tackle them. You will find foot care creams and balms, antifungal products, corn and callus removers, verruca products and supportive insoles, for adults and active feet.

Choosing depends on the problem. Rich heel balms with urea soften hard, cracked skin, while antifungal creams, sprays and powders are aimed at athlete's foot and fungal nails. Medicated plasters and gels are used for corns and verrucas, and cushioning insoles help with pressure and all-day comfort. For fungal nails, products work slowly over several weeks, so consistency matters.

Every foot care product here is stocked at Leahy's Pharmacy in Tralee, where our pharmacy team can help you choose. If you have diabetes, reduced circulation or a wound that is not settling, it is best to have foot problems checked rather than self-treating, and have a quick word with our pharmacist if you are unsure. For wider skin creams and balms, you can also browse our Skincare range. Browse the full range below.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a cream, spray and powder for athlete's foot? +
Creams are rubbed in and suit defined patches, especially between the toes. Sprays are quick to apply and useful for larger areas or hard-to-reach spots. Powders help keep feet and shoes dry, which discourages the problem returning. Whichever you choose, complete the full course on the label so it is less likely to come back.
How long does fungal nail treatment take to work? +
Fungal nail products work slowly because the nail has to grow out, so it can take several months to see clear nail, and toenails take longer than fingernails. Applying it consistently is what makes the difference. If there is no improvement after a few months, our pharmacist or your GP can advise on next steps.
What helps with hard skin and cracked heels? +
Rich heel balms, often containing urea, soften and rehydrate hard, cracked skin with daily use, and a foot file can gently reduce thickened skin. Cushioning insoles ease pressure that adds to hard skin. If cracks are deep, painful or not settling, or you have diabetes, have them checked rather than self-treating.
