COLPERMIN 20S

Colpermin Capsules contain peppermint oil and are an antispasmodic used to relieve the bloating, painful spasms and cramps in the large bowel that occur in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

• Important: do not start treatment unless your IBS has first been diagnosed by your doctor
• Active ingredient: peppermint oil 0.2ml (187mg) per capsule
• Pack: 20 capsules
• How to use: adults and children aged 15 years and over, one capsule three times a day; if symptoms are severe, two capsules three times a day. Swallow whole with a small amount of water and do not chew or break. Do not take immediately after food, and do not eat for 30 to 60 minutes after taking a capsule. Do not take at the same time as indigestion remedies
• Duration: take until symptoms are resolved, normally within 1 to 2 weeks; contact a doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 2 weeks
• Not for: not recommended for children under 15 years
• Do not take if: you are allergic to peppermint oil or any of the other ingredients, or you are allergic to peanuts or soya (contains arachis (peanut) oil)
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if: this is the first time you have had these symptoms; you are 40 or over and it has been some time since your last IBS attack, or your symptoms have changed; you have passed blood from your bowel, are vomiting or feeling sick, have lost your appetite or weight without explanation, are unusually pale or tired, have severe constipation or fever, have recently travelled abroad, have abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge, or have difficulty or pain passing urine
• Heartburn: if you already have heartburn it may get worse; stop taking Colpermin if heartburn gets worse
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not take before asking your doctor or pharmacist for advice
• Alcohol: avoid alcoholic drink while taking this medicine
