Elave

Gentle everyday skincare is the focus of Elave, an Irish dermatological skincare brand made for sensitive skin. The range at Leahy's covers Elave Intensive Cream in a 500ml pump and a 125g tub, Baby Intensive Cream, Body Lotion and Bodywash, including a 1 litre pump. There is also a Dermatological Facial Cleanser, Hand Wash, Shampoo and Intense Moisture Surge, so a whole washing and moisturising routine can come from one brand.

Creams are thicker than lotions, so Intensive Cream suits skin that feels very dry, while Body Lotion spreads more easily over larger areas. Many people use the Bodywash in the shower, then apply a cream or lotion afterwards while the skin is still slightly damp. The 500ml and 1 litre pumps are practical for daily family use, and the smaller tubes and tubs suit a gym bag or travel. Baby Intensive Cream is the option made for babies. As with any new product, try a small area first.

All Elave products here are stocked at Leahy's Pharmacy, a family-run Irish pharmacy in Tralee, Co. Kerry. If your skin is very dry, itchy or sore, our pharmacists can talk through your routine with you. For more products for sensitive skin, see our eczema and dry skin range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Elave Intensive Cream and Elave Body Lotion? +
Intensive Cream has a thicker texture and is often chosen for areas that feel very dry, such as elbows, knees and hands. Body Lotion is lighter, so it spreads quickly over arms, legs and back and suits everyday moisturising. Some people use the lotion daily and keep the cream for drier patches. Check each pack for directions and the areas it is intended for.
Which Elave product is for babies? +
Elave Baby Intensive Cream is the product in this range made for babies. Check the pack for age guidance and directions, and try it on a small area of skin first. If your baby's skin is red, broken, weeping or not settling, speak to our pharmacist, your public health nurse or your GP rather than relying on a moisturiser alone.
Which Elave size should I buy? +
Larger sizes, such as the 500ml Intensive Cream pump and the 1 litre Bodywash pump, are practical for daily use or for a family sharing one product. The 125ml and 125g tubs and tubes, and the 250ml bottles, suit trying the range for the first time or keeping a product in a bag. A pump also avoids dipping fingers into a tub.
Can I use Elave if I have eczema? +
Elave is a cosmetic skincare range for sensitive skin, not a medicine. Gentle washes and regular moisturising are part of many people's routine for dry or eczema-prone skin. If you have a diagnosed skin condition or use prescribed creams, ask our pharmacist or your GP how and when to use moisturisers alongside them, and stop using any product that causes irritation.
