Nurofen Rapid Relief 200mg Liquid Capsules contain ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory painkiller (NSAID), used for the relief of headache, migraine, dental and period pain, backache, muscular and rheumatic pain, neuralgia, fever and cold and flu symptoms.
- Active ingredient: ibuprofen 200mg per liquid capsule
- Pack: 24 liquid capsules
- Suitable for: adults and children over 12 years; not for children under 12
- How to use: swallow 2 capsules with water, then if needed 1 or 2 capsules every 4 hours; no more than 6 capsules (1200mg) in 24 hours; do not chew
- Duration: use the lowest dose for the shortest time and no longer than 3 days; see your doctor if symptoms get worse or do not improve after 3 days
- Do not take if: you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs or any of the ingredients; you have had shortness of breath, worsening asthma, a rash, an itchy or runny nose or swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat after taking ibuprofen, codeine, aspirin or similar medicines; you are already taking other ibuprofen or NSAID medicines; you have had stomach bleeding or perforation after NSAIDs, or have or have had a stomach ulcer, bleeding or perforation; you have severe heart failure or severe liver or kidney problems; or you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
- Cautions: speak to your doctor or pharmacist first if you have asthma, heart, liver or kidney problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, a family history of heart disease or stroke, or if you smoke; a head injury, unexplained bleeding or raised pressure in the skull; lupus (SLE), Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, an infection or chickenpox, are under regular medical treatment, take blood thinners, low-dose aspirin or other medicines, or if a teenager is dehydrated, or are elderly, as older people are more likely to have side effects such as stomach bleeding
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not take in the first 6 months of pregnancy unless your doctor advises it; ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are breastfeeding
- Contains: sorbitol and the colour Ponceau 4R (E124), which may cause allergic reactions
