Nurofen Rapid Relief Maximum Strength 400mg Liquid Capsules contain ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- Used for: relief of headaches, migraine, backache, period pain, dental pain, neuralgia, muscular pain, rheumatic pain, cold and flu symptoms and fever
- Active ingredient: ibuprofen 400mg per liquid capsule
- Pack: 20 liquid capsules
- How to use: adults and children over 12 years, take 1 capsule with water, then if necessary 1 capsule every 4 hours; do not take more than 3 capsules in any 24 hours; do not chew. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time
- Duration: do not take for longer than 3 days unless your doctor tells you to; if symptoms persist or get worse, talk to your doctor
- Do not take if you: are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or any of the ingredients; have had shortness of breath, worsening of asthma, an allergic rash or an itchy, runny nose after taking ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines; have ever had stomach bleeding or perforation after taking ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines; have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding; have severe kidney or liver problems or severe heart failure; are in the last 3 months of pregnancy; or are under 12 years of age
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not take in the last 3 months of pregnancy; do not take in the first 6 months of pregnancy unless absolutely necessary and advised by your doctor. It is not necessary to stop breastfeeding for short-term use at the recommended dose
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you: have an infection; have or have had asthma; have kidney, liver or heart problems (including angina, a heart attack, bypass surgery, poor circulation in the legs or feet, or any kind of stroke); have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, a family history of heart disease or stroke, or smoke; have lupus, bleeding or clotting problems, an intolerance to some sugars, or a history of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease; are elderly; or have chicken pox (it is advisable to avoid use)
- Other medicines: talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you already take NSAIDs or other painkillers such as aspirin, or take blood thinners, corticosteroids, SSRI antidepressants, diuretics, blood pressure medicines, lithium, methotrexate, digoxin or any other medicines
- Fertility: may make it more difficult to become pregnant; tell your doctor if you are planning a pregnancy
- Contains: sorbitol and Ponceau 4R (E124), which may cause allergic reactions
