Panadol Night Tablets combine paracetamol with diphenhydramine, a sedating antihistamine, and are taken at bedtime for the relief of headache, backache, muscular or rheumatic pain, period pain and toothache, and the aches and fever of colds and flu.
- Active ingredients: paracetamol 500mg and diphenhydramine hydrochloride 25mg per tablet
- Pack: 20 tablets
- How to use: for bedtime use only; swallow with water about 20 minutes before bed. Adults and children 16 and over: take 2 tablets, no more than 2 tablets per night. Children 12 to 15: take 1 tablet, no more than 1 tablet per night. Not recommended for children under 12 except on medical advice
- Duration: do not take for more than 7 nights in a row without speaking to your doctor
- Daytime paracetamol: if you also take paracetamol during the day, do not exceed 4,000mg in total in 24 hours (adults and children 16 and over) or 2,000mg (children 12 to 15), including this product, and leave at least 4 hours between doses
- Do not take if: you are allergic to paracetamol, diphenhydramine or any of the ingredients; with other paracetamol products or other antihistamines, including those used on the skin or in cough and cold medicines; you have porphyria or glaucoma; during an asthma attack; or if you are elderly and suffer from confusion
- Cautions: causes drowsiness, so do not drive or use machinery and avoid alcohol; ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you have liver or kidney problems, are underweight or malnourished, drink alcohol regularly, or have epilepsy, breathing problems, difficulty passing urine, prostate or heart problems, are elderly, take metoprolol, atropine or medicines for stomach cramps or travel sickness, have bowel obstruction or myasthenia gravis, or take flucloxacillin, warfarin, sleeping tablets, medicines for depression or anxiety (or have taken an MAOI in the last 2 weeks), metoclopramide, domperidone or cholestyramine; get medical help straight away after an overdose even if you feel well
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor tells you to
