Panadol 500mg Film Coated Tablets contain paracetamol, a painkiller that also reduces your temperature when you have a fever.

  • Used for: headaches, toothache, backache, rheumatic and muscle pains and period pain; sore throat and the feverishness, aches and pains of colds and flu; and the pain of osteoarthritis that has been diagnosed by a doctor
  • Active ingredient: paracetamol 500mg per tablet
  • Pack: 24 film-coated tablets
  • How to use: adults (including the elderly) and children aged 16 years and over, 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as required. Children aged 10 to 15 years, 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours as required
  • Dose limits: do not take more often than every 4 hours and do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours; do not give to children for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor; if symptoms persist, consult your doctor; prolonged use except under medical supervision may be harmful
  • Do not take if: you have ever had an allergic reaction to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients; you are taking any other medicines containing paracetamol; do not give to children under 10 years
  • Overdose: get medical advice immediately in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage
  • Check with your doctor before use if you: have liver or kidney problems, are underweight or malnourished, or regularly drink alcohol
  • Other medicines: talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you take metoclopramide or domperidone, colestyramine, flucloxacillin (serious risk of a blood and fluid abnormality called metabolic acidosis), or blood thinners such as warfarin and need a pain reliever every day
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: if necessary, can be used during pregnancy at the lowest possible dose for the shortest time possible; contact your doctor if pain or fever is not reduced; can be taken while breastfeeding
