Nicorette Classic Gum 2mg 210 Pieces

Nicorette Classic Gum 2mg is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) medicated chewing gum. It is used to treat tobacco dependence by relieving nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms, helping smokers who want to quit, helping smokers go without cigarettes for a time, and, for those not ready to stop abruptly, supporting a gradual reduction before stopping completely. The 2 mg strength is for people who smoke fewer than 20 cigarettes a day, and may also help heavier smokers when they step down from the 4 mg gum.

Nicorette Gum is not chewed like ordinary gum. Chew slowly using the chew-and-rest technique described on the pack; after about 30 minutes the gum is used up. Use a piece whenever there is an urge to smoke, and do not use more than 15 pieces a day. When stopping straightaway, the gum may be used for up to 3 months. If you have not cut down after 6 weeks of gradual reduction, ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.

Not for non-smokers. It should not be used by anyone under 18 unless recommended by a healthcare professional. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have heart or circulation problems, high blood pressure, stomach or duodenal ulcers, liver or kidney problems, diabetes or an overactive thyroid. The gum contains sorbitol. Our pharmacists at Leahy's Pharmacy are happy to advise, and the national quit line is 1800 201 203.

Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.
