SUMATRAN RELIEF 50MG TABLETS 2S

Sumatran Relief 50mg Tablets contain sumatriptan, a triptan used to relieve migraine attacks in adults aged 18 to 65 whose migraine has been diagnosed by a doctor.

• Active ingredient: sumatriptan 50mg (as succinate) per tablet
• Pack: 2 tablets
• Used for: relief of acute migraine attacks with or without aura, in people with a well-established pattern of symptoms whose migraine has been clearly diagnosed by a doctor; it works only once an attack has started and must not be used to prevent an attack
• How to use: adults aged 18 to 65 take 1 tablet (50mg) with water as soon as possible after the migraine starts; if the migraine improves but the symptoms come back, a second 50mg dose may be taken at least 2 hours after the first; do not take more than 100mg in any 24 hours; if the first tablet has no effect, do not take a second tablet for the same attack
• Do not take if you: are allergic to sumatriptan, sulfonamide antibiotics or any of the other ingredients; are trying to prevent a migraine attack; are under 18 or over 65; have seizures or a history of seizures, or conditions that make fits more likely such as a head injury or alcoholism; have or have ever had heart problems, including a heart attack, angina, Prinzmetal's angina, or heart-related symptoms such as shortness of breath or palpitations; have circulation problems in the hands and feet; have had a stroke or mini-stroke (TIA); have liver or kidney impairment; have high blood pressure or a history of high blood pressure; take ergotamine, methysergide or any other triptan; take, or have stopped taking within the last 2 weeks, an MAO inhibitor (e.g. moclobemide or selegiline); or have been told you have a rare form of migraine such as hemiplegic, basilar or ophthalmoplegic migraine
• Other medicines: tell your pharmacist if you take SSRI or SNRI antidepressants or lithium (risk of serotonin syndrome), St John's wort, or the contraceptive pill (increased risk of stroke)
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you: smoke or use a lot of nicotine products, especially if you are a woman past the menopause or a man over 40; or have high cholesterol, diabetes, a family history of early heart disease, or are markedly obese
• See a doctor if: you do not feel better or feel worse after 24 hours; your typical headaches last longer than 24 hours; you have four or more migraine attacks a month; you do not recover completely between attacks; your attacks get worse, become more frequent or change; or you have symptoms of a stroke or TIA such as muscle weakness, clumsiness, visual disturbances or confusion
• Warnings: taking it too often (e.g. on 2 or more days a week) can make headaches worse (medication-overuse headache); stop and get urgent medical advice if you have an allergic reaction, fits, or palpitations or chest pain that do not settle shortly after taking it; contains lactose and sulphites
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: ask your doctor for advice before use; do not breastfeed for 12 hours after taking a tablet
• Driving: may cause drowsiness, dizziness or weakness; do not drive or use machines until you are sure you are not affected
