  • Pack: 19g screw-top jar
  • Format: Whitish, oily ointment, for external use only
  • Active ingredients: Cajuput oil 13.0% w/w, camphor 11.0% w/w, levomenthol 8.0% w/w, clove oil 1.5% w/w
  • Other ingredients: Dementholised mint oil, yellow soft paraffin, hard paraffin
  • Used for: Temporary relief of minor muscular aches and pains (adults and children over 2 years); treatment of tension headache (adults only). A tension headache is the kind you may get when your head, neck and shoulder muscles become tense due to tiredness, overwork or emotional strain. If you are not sure whether you have a tension headache, ask your doctor or pharmacist
  • How to use for muscular aches and pains: Adults and children aged 2 years and older: rub gently on the affected parts of the skin as necessary, usually 2 or 3 times a day. Wash hands after use. Talk to a doctor if your aches and pains worsen or do not improve after 2 weeks
  • How to use for tension headache: Adults only. Apply a pea-sized amount, just enough to cover the area, onto the forehead or temples and lightly rub in a circular motion. Repeat after 30 minutes and after one hour if your headache has not got better. Seek medical advice if symptoms last continuously for 24 hours or keep coming back over the next 7 days. Do not use Tiger Balm to treat headaches in children
  • Do not use: If you are allergic to camphor, menthol, clove oil, cajuput oil or any of the other ingredients; if you have asthma or other lung diseases that can result in severe breathing difficulties; if your headache is not the tension type; if you have any sort of skin disease; in children less than 2 years of age; on open wounds or on inflamed or irritated skin
  • Headache warning signs: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately if your headache lasts a long time in one area, is severe, is on one side of the head only, occurs when you first wake up and/or after strenuous exercise, or comes with other symptoms such as sickness, dizziness, migraine or changes in vision; or if it is different to any headache you have had before
  • Warnings: Keep away from the delicate and moist linings in or around the eyes, mouth, nose, vagina and urethra. Do not inhale it or apply it to the nose. Do not use near the nose of babies or young children, as similar products have been reported to cause breathing difficulties, loss of consciousness or severe allergic reactions. Do not bandage areas where you have applied it. Do not smoke or go near naked flames, as there is a risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc.) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard; washing may reduce product build-up but does not totally remove it
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use. Avoid excessive use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Other medicines: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines
  • Side effects: May occasionally cause skin irritation, such as rashes or contact dermatitis, or burns at the application site. If this occurs, stop using it and seek medical advice immediately
  • Accidental swallowing: If a child swallows Tiger Balm, consult a doctor without delay. Do not try to induce vomiting
