Bonjela Oromucosal Gel 15g
Bonjela Oromucosal Gel is a clear, aniseed flavoured gel that is applied to the inside of the mouth or to the gums. It contains choline salicylate 8.714%, a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory, and cetalkonium chloride 0.010%, an antiseptic. It can be used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and help fight infection in infant teething, mouth ulcers, cold sores, and sore spots caused by dentures in adults and orthodontic devices in children.
Apply with a clean finger: a pea-sized amount for children from 4 months, or about 1 cm of gel for adults, no more than once every 3 hours and following the dose on the pack. For denture irritation, apply to the gums and wait at least 30 minutes before putting the dentures back in. Do not use it in babies under 4 months, if you are already taking aspirin or another salicylate unless a doctor has told you to, if you have an active or recurrent stomach ulcer, or during chickenpox or flu, particularly in children and adolescents under 16. Frequent application in children may lead to salicylate poisoning, so do not exceed the stated dose. The gel contains a small amount of alcohol (ethanol). If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your pharmacist or doctor before use, and talk to a doctor if there is no improvement after 7 days. Our pharmacists at Leahy's Pharmacy are happy to advise if you are unsure whether this product is right for you.
Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.
