Dioralyte Citrus Powder for Oral Solution 14 Sachets
Dioralyte Citrus Powder for Oral Solution is an oral rehydration therapy containing a balanced combination of glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and disodium hydrogen citrate. It is used to replace the essential water and salts the body can lose for various reasons, including during diarrhoea.
Empty one sachet into a glass, add exactly 200 ml of fresh drinking water and stir until dissolved; for infants under 1 year, or where fresh drinking water is not available, use freshly boiled and cooled water. Make the drink just before use and never make it stronger or weaker than directed. Adults and children take the number of sachets shown on the pack after each loose stool, up to 14 sachets a day and for no more than 5 days.
Infants under 24 months should only be given Dioralyte on medical advice and should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before use if diarrhoea has lasted more than 24 to 36 hours, if you have liver or kidney disease or diabetes, if you are on a low sodium or low potassium diet, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The citrus flavour contains sulphur dioxide, which may rarely cause severe allergic reactions. Our pharmacists at Leahy's Pharmacy are happy to advise if you are unsure whether this product is right for you.
Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.
