Nicorette Classic 4mg Gum 105 Pack
Nicorette Classic 4mg Gum is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) medicated chewing gum. It is used to relieve withdrawal symptoms and reduce the cravings for nicotine that you get when you try to stop smoking, or when you are cutting down the number of cigarettes you smoke while trying to stop. The 4 mg strength is for people who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day.
Nicorette Gum is not chewed like ordinary gum. Chew slowly until the taste becomes strong, rest the gum between your gum and cheek, then chew again when the taste fades, for about half an hour. Use one piece at a time when you feel a craving; most people use 8 to 12 pieces a day and no more than 15 pieces should be used in a day. It can be used to stop straightaway, to cut down gradually before stopping, or to relieve cravings when you cannot smoke, for example in smoke-free areas.
Not for non-smokers or anyone under 18. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before use if you are in hospital with heart disease, or have high blood pressure, poor circulation, chest pains, stomach or duodenal ulcers, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, an overactive thyroid or a history of epilepsy. The gum contains sorbitol and may stick to dentures. Our pharmacists at Leahy's Pharmacy are happy to advise, and the national quit line is 1800 201 203.
Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.
