NiQuitin Mini 4mg Mint Lozenges are a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) medicine used to help people stop smoking, either straightaway or by cutting down first. The nicotine they release helps relieve some of the unpleasant withdrawal symptoms smokers may get when they try to quit, relieves cravings for a cigarette and helps resist the urge to smoke. The 4 mg strength is intended for people who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day.

Place one lozenge in the mouth and move it from one side to the other from time to time until it has dissolved, which takes around 10 minutes. Do not chew it or swallow it whole, and do not eat or drink while it is in your mouth. When stopping straightaway, most adults use 8 to 12 lozenges a day for up to 6 weeks and then cut down gradually; do not use more than 15 lozenges in 24 hours. Adults using them together with NiQuitin patches should not use more than 10 lozenges a day.

Not for non-smokers or children under 12; adolescents aged 12 to 17 should only use them following advice from a healthcare professional and should not combine them with patches. Talk to your pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had a recent heart attack or stroke, or have heart or circulation problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, an overactive thyroid, moderate or severe liver or severe kidney problems, or stomach or duodenal ulcers. Our pharmacists at Leahy's Pharmacy are happy to advise.

Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.
