Nurofen Cold and Flu Film-Coated Tablets contain ibuprofen and the decongestant pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, and are used for the relief of headaches, aches, pain and fever associated with colds and flu, and to ease blocked noses and sinuses and the pain of sore throats.

  • Active ingredients: ibuprofen 200mg and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30mg per film-coated tablet
  • Pack: 12 tablets
  • How to use: adults and children over 12 years, swallow 2 tablets with water, then if necessary 1 to 2 tablets every 4 hours; do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed. Do not give to children under 12 years of age
  • Duration: do not exceed the recommended dose or the 3-day duration of treatment; consult your doctor if symptoms persist or get worse, or if the product is needed for more than 3 days
  • Do not take if you: are allergic to ibuprofen, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride or any of the ingredients; have had shortness of breath, worsening asthma, an allergic rash, an itchy runny nose or swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat after ibuprofen, codeine, aspirin or similar medicines; are already taking NSAID painkillers; are taking beta blockers (such as atenolol or metoprolol) or other sympathomimetic drugs; are taking MAOIs and/or RIMAs (including moclobemide); are taking tricyclic antidepressants; are taking medicines for high blood pressure (including adrenergic neurone blockers), cardiac glycosides such as digoxin, ergot alkaloids (ergotamine, methysergide), oxytocin or anticholinergic medicines; or have taken mifepristone in the last 12 days
  • Also do not take if you: have ever had stomach bleeding or perforation after ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines, or have (or have had two or more episodes of) a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding; have severe kidney, liver or heart problems, severe kidney disease or kidney failure; have high blood pressure (particularly if it is due to a tumour), including very high blood pressure or high blood pressure not controlled by your medication; have heart disease or circulatory problems, diabetes, glaucoma, thyroid or prostate problems, or phaeochromocytoma; or are under 12 years of age
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This medicine may make it more difficult to become pregnant; this is reversible on stopping
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you: have asthma, an infection, chickenpox (it is advisable to avoid this medicine), kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, a head injury or raised pressure in the head, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, or lupus; have heart problems, have had a heart attack or stroke, or have risk factors such as high cholesterol, smoking or a family history of heart disease or stroke; are elderly; are receiving regular treatment from your doctor; have taken an MAOI in the last 14 days; have blocked arteries or veins (occlusive vascular disease); or take corticosteroids, blood thinners, antiplatelet medicines, SSRI antidepressants, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, linezolid, quinidine, other decongestants or appetite suppressants, or any other medicines
  • Warnings: may hide signs of infection such as fever and pain; there may be a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke, particularly at high doses; stop and seek medical help if you notice black or bloody stools or vomit blood
  • Stop and get medical help straight away if you: develop a sudden severe headache, feeling sick, vomiting, confusion, seizures or changes in vision; have a sudden loss of vision; get any skin rash, mouth ulcers, a severe skin reaction, a rash with pustules and fever, or other signs of an allergic reaction; or get sudden abdominal pain or rectal bleeding. Stop taking it if you get hallucinations, restlessness or sleep disturbances
  • Other information: there are no known effects on driving or using machines. Contains sunset yellow (E110), which may cause allergic reactions
  • Supply limit: one pack of a pseudoephedrine-containing medicine per transaction
