Ovelle Emulsifying Ointment 100g

Ovelle Emulsifying Ointment is a licensed medicine for use on the skin. It is a moisturiser and emollient that soothes and helps to hydrate dry skin, and can be used as a soap substitute, in eczema and other dry skin conditions.

• Format: White, semi-opaque ointment, for external use only
• Active ingredients: Emulsifying wax 30% w/w (cetostearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulphate, purified water), white soft paraffin 50% w/w, liquid paraffin 20% w/w
• Used for: Moisturiser and emollient that soothes and helps to hydrate dry skin; soap substitute; eczema and other dry skin conditions
• Who can use it: Adults, babies and the elderly
• How to use: Apply as often as required to prevent itching and flaking dry skin. For use as a soap substitute, see the patient information sheet supplied with the product
• Fire warning: If the ointment comes into contact with dressings, clothing or bedding, the fabric can be easily ignited with a naked flame. Keep away from fire when using this product
• Warnings: Can make skin and surfaces slippery; take particular care when bathing. If there is no improvement or the condition gets worse, consult your doctor
• Ingredient information: Cetostearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis). Sodium lauryl sulphate may cause local skin reactions (such as a stinging or burning sensation) or increase skin reactions caused by other products applied to the same area; people with a weakened skin barrier, such as in atopic dermatitis, are more sensitive to it
