Rennie Peppermint 48s
Rennie Peppermint Chewable Tablets are an antacid medicine for the relief of heartburn, indigestion and acid reflux. Each tablet contains two antacids, calcium carbonate 680mg and heavy magnesium carbonate 80mg, which neutralise excess acid in the stomach and so help protect the stomach and food pipe against its effects. The tablets are peppermint flavoured and are sucked or chewed.
Rennie Peppermint is for adults and is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18. Take it as described in the leaflet and do not exceed the stated maximum daily dose. Do not take it if you have severe kidney disease or kidney stones, high calcium levels in the blood, kidneys or urine, or low phosphate levels in the blood. Antacids can affect how some medicines work, including certain antibiotics, digoxin, thiazide diuretics, bisphosphonates, dolutegravir, levothyroxine and iron, so speak to our pharmacist first if you take other medicines. Avoid large amounts of milk or dairy products while using it. Each tablet contains sucrose and glucose, which may be harmful to teeth. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to our pharmacist before use.
Like other antacids, Rennie can mask the symptoms of more serious conditions. If you are 55 or older with unexplained and persistent heartburn, contact your doctor before use, and talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or feel worse after 7 days. Heart-related pain can sometimes feel like indigestion and will not respond to Rennie, so seek medical advice if pain does not go away.
