Tiger Balm Red Ointment is a medicine for use on the skin containing camphor, levomenthol, cajuput oil and clove oil. It can be used by adults and children over 2 years of age to give temporary relief from minor muscular aches and pains.

  • Pack: 19g screw-top jar
  • Format: Reddish-brown, oily ointment, for external use only
  • Active ingredients: Camphor 11.0% w/w, levomenthol 10.0% w/w, cajuput oil 7.0% w/w, clove oil 5.0% w/w
  • Other ingredients: Cinnamon oil, dementholised mint oil, yellow soft paraffin, hard paraffin
  • Used for: Temporary relief of minor muscular aches and pains
  • Who can use it: Adults and children aged 2 years and older
  • How to use: Rub gently on the affected parts of the skin as necessary, usually 2 or 3 times a day. Wash hands after use. Do not bandage areas where you have applied it. Do not apply a double quantity to make up for a forgotten application
  • When to see a doctor: You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 2 weeks
  • Do not use: If you are allergic to camphor, menthol, clove oil, cajuput oil or any of the other ingredients; if you have any sort of skin disease; in children less than 2 years of age; on open wounds or on inflamed or irritated skin
  • Warnings: Keep away from the delicate and moist linings in or around the eyes, mouth, nose, vagina and urethra. Do not smoke or go near naked flames, as there is a risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc.) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard; washing may reduce product build-up but does not totally remove it
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use. Avoid excessive use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Other medicines: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines
  • Side effects: May occasionally cause skin irritation, such as rashes or contact dermatitis, or burns at the application site. If this occurs, stop using it and seek medical advice immediately
  • Accidental swallowing: If a child swallows Tiger Balm, consult a doctor without delay. Do not try to induce vomiting
